How did you become a part of this industry?
Brea:
I studied fine art black and white photography while in college and after graduation I took a position doing all the dark room printing for a wedding and portrait photographer on Nantucket Island. I had never envisioned photographing weddings but as I began to assist her and second shoot I quickly learned how exciting, emotional and challenging it could be, I was hooked!
NMWE:
What sets you apart? / What is your most valued feature about your business?
Brea:
This is such a great question! It’s ME! There is no other person that can do exactly what I do. I know that sounds corny but it’s true! We work so closely with our couples on a very personal and important day and they connect with me, that is important. I bring my very own history, experience, education, eyes and even laugh to each job and nobody else can do that… just me! That is what sets my photography and working with me apart.

NMWE:
What keeps you passionate and motivated?
Brea:
Every wedding and every family is so different. While there is a definite rhythm to a wedding I just get so excited to shoot every weekend and see what family story unfolds!
NMWE:
What are your desired types of couples?
Brea:
I am a great fit for couples that value photography that showcases their day in an authentic, real way and they value tangible memories to pass down for generations.

NMWE:
What is your best piece of advice or tip for couples planning a wedding?
Brea:
Invest in a planner. They know more about the ins and outs of weddings than anyone, you don’t even know what you don’t know! Having a planner is an investment in a day you two have put a lot of thought into… have someone manage it so you two can enjoy it!
